A laboratory information and management system (LIMS) is required for a small chemical-analytical laboratory. The LIMS is used to support administrative and coordination laboratory processes, such as the collection of sample and analysis data their evaluation and automated reporting. The laboratory carries out routine examinations according to established standard procedures and research-oriented examinations in the form of small series. During routine examinations through a standard LIMS To be easily mapped, the LIMS requires a high level of flexibility to record research-oriented tasks. Method development, expansion of investigation methods and changes in tasks must be taken into account. This particularly concerns the quick and easy adjustment of input masks and database structures. The possibility of extended documentation in the form of recording complete spectra and chromatography data is also necessary. The LIMS is intended to provide an overview of the individual measuring devices/measuring systems and their modules/components and configuration. The LIMS should also serve as a planning tool for maintenance. This requires database functions that Clearly display maintenance intervals, technical status, upcoming tasks, etc. For sampling outside of the laboratory, “offline” input is required via a smart input device such as a mobile phone; Tablets or laptops with handheld scanners provided. Georeferencing is also planned for sampling in a later expansion phase. The workflows must be user-friendly and quickly adaptable. Workstation computers in the office network must have access to the LIMS be made possible.
