Background



The Department of Tourism (DOT), as the primary national government agency mandated to develop the tourism industry, relies heavily on efficient, secure, and reliable information and communications technology (ICT) to fulfill its functions. These functions include tourism development planning, implementation of standards and regulations, policy formulation, and the provision of timely and data-driven services to stakeholders nationwide.



To effectively carry out these responsibilities, DOT personnel must be equipped with functional and up-to-date ICT resources—such as desktops, laptops, servers, productivity software, interactive displays, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). These tools are essential for daily operations, data processing and analysis, inter-office coordination, and the generation of critical reports and statistics that support decision-making and public service delivery.
