Tenders are invited for Mdih Design-Build Contractor Industry Day - Millenium Challenge Account - Lesotho Ii (Mca-L Ii) Hereby Invites You to Attend an Informational Session on an Upcoming Procurement of a Design-Build Contractor (Using Fidic Yellow Book) for the Detailed Design and Construction of Four Irrigation Schemes in Lesotho
The following four irrigation schemes are proposed under the MDIH Project:
ü Manka - 600 hectares (ha) located in the northern part of Lesotho.
ü Likhakeng -100ha located in the northern part of Lesotho.
ü Phamong - 120ha located in the southern part of Lesotho.
ü Tsoili-Tsoili - 760ha located in the northern part of Lesotho.
The investment targets approximately 80 villages and around 1100 smallholder farmers (SHFs) with an average land holding ranging between 1.4 to 2.2 hectares. Each irrigation scheme will consist of the following four main components:
1. Main Scheme Infrastructure (MSI) consisting of the river abstraction, river pump station and rising main (except for the Likhakeng irrigation scheme), reservoir/dam, reservoir micro-catchment protection structures, and reservoir pump station.
2. Irrigation Distribution Network (IDN) consisting of the primary, secondary, and tertiary distribution network, main and secondary control heads, and hydrants at the point of supply to farm plots.
3. In-field irrigation system consisting of sub-mains and irrigation laterals in the farm plots, including irrigation equipment (drip and sprinkler).
4. Auxiliary infrastructure consisting of demonstration farm, training center, service center that accommodates post-harvest handling (PHH) and Integrated Cold Chain (ICC) facilities, access field roads, electrical connections to the grid, and emergency power supply systems.
