The municipality of Kirchlengern intends to award planning services for a new building or the expansion and renovation of the Elsaeau primary school at the South layer location. The elementary school Elseaue is a 5-day school (in peaks in a few years 6-day) in a primary school network consisting of two locations (Kirchlengern and Südlern). An open all day is attached at both locations. The main building of the Südlenger location is a 4 shared U-shaped solid building which was created in 3 construction phases, in 1881, 1957 and 1991. In 2023, a 3-storey container system was built to accommodate the OGS, marginal hour and another class. It remains open to what extent the old building is preserved or new parts of the building are being built. Changes within the existing building and the use of the open space in the northern area are also possible. The sports hall and a football field will become part of the planning overview, but can also be built in a second construction phase, if there are advantages in the accommodation of the school rooms during the construction phase.
