Planning services for the construction of a cycle path Planning services for the Main Bridge cycle path The municipality of Himmelkron intends to implement the “Mainbrückenradweg Himmelkron” project. The object of the project is the construction of an approximately 790 m long cycle path on the former railway line south-west of the town center of Himmelkron. The project serves to close the gap in the existing cycle path network between the Himmelkron-Trebgast state road and the Himmelkron-Lanzendorf GV road and to improve it traffic safety and the attractiveness of the regional cycle path network. The route runs on the existing railway embankment. The existing dam body will essentially remain intact. There are three bridge structures on the route: • Flood bridge KM 4, 828 (approx. 45 running meters) • Flood bridge KM 4.94 (approx. 25 running meters) • Weißer Main Bridge KM 5, 156 (approx. 30 running meters) The planning includes: • New construction of the asphalt cycle path • Adaptation and upgrading of the three bridge structures • Species and nature conservation measures • Compensatory and CEF measures The planned standard width of the cycle path is 2.50 m plus shoulders on both sides. The construction costs (as of cost calculation as of September 24, 2025) amount to a total of approximately €2.16 million gross. Based on this cost calculation, in accordance with Section 3 VgV the estimated contract value of the planning services is determined.
