Planning services ENB Südring Bridge Planning services for new construction of the Südring bridge structure The Südring bridge structure as part of the Markersdorf route was built in 1977. It is used to transfer the double-track Markersdorf route over the Chemnitz River Chemnitz-Stollberg railway line and a municipal residential road. The bridge runs parallel to the two road bridges on the southern ring in the immediate vicinity. It is a prestressed concrete construction. Based on current experiences National level with identical prestressed concrete bridges, it was decided to build a replacement building in the medium term. It is a five-span prestressed concrete superstructure with a central girder cross-section. The superstructure is prestressed in the longitudinal direction. The bridge structure is at risk due to stress corrosion cracking. Planning should therefore be started with the aim of examining and determining variants for a replacement building. The existing geometry of the entire system should serve as a basis and reproduced if possible. There are three variants of new bridge construction to be examined.
