According to the current update of the school development planning for the Havelland district for the school years 2025/26 to 2030/31, the number of students in the secondary general education sector will continue to increase overall. The Havelland district is as School authorities are obliged to maintain sufficient and needs-based school capacity. Against this background, plans were made for the construction of a new four-room high school including a three-field sports hall at the location of the Wustermark community initiated. The new building is to be realized with an expansion option to six trains. Completion is scheduled for the 2030/31 school year. Since the need for school places already exists from the 2027/28 school year, from this point onwards there is one to create an interim solution. In coordination with the municipality of Wustermark, schooling in the first school year 2027/28 can take place entirely in the premises of the primary school located on site. From the 2028/29 school year onwards, the class and Administrative rooms will be housed in an interim building. For this purpose, the municipality of Wustermark is providing the Havelland district with land near the future school location. Other functional areas - especially individual rooms, the sports hall, the outdoor sports areas and the auditorium/canteen - can continue to be used in the primary school, so that the size of the required interim building can be reduced to the necessary level.
