The MARUM Center for Marine Environmental Sciences at the University of Bremen gains fundamental scientific knowledge about the role of the ocean and seafloor in the entire Earth system. To do this, MARUM uses modern technologies to sample the seabed. To To expand the scientific infrastructure, MARUM would like to procure a piston sounding system (Giant Piston Corer) in order to be able to obtain long and, above all, high-quality sediment cores, which are very important for marine research.
