The rainwater occurring in the sub-catchment area E 12 (area 9, Kalkarer Straße) is currently being used without any further Pre-treatment and introduced into the spy channel without being throttled. There is a requirement that the previously untreated rainwater in the catchment area must be treated before being discharged into the Spoykanal receiving water. In addition, sewer inspections have shown that the Canals in Pannofenstrasse are firstly in need of renovation and secondly are too undersized to ensure the drainage of the commercial area between Kalkarer Strasse and the Deutsche Bahn tracks in the direction of Pannofenstrasse After the first, completed planning, a new drainage concept was created and approved by the lower water authority.
