Operation FIS Nature The LfU intends to tender and conclude a contract for the care and maintenance as well as the further development of FIS-Nature. FIS-Nature is a development commissioned by the Bavarian State Ministry for the Environment and Consumer protection and has existed for over 30 years. The Bavarian State Office for the Environment has been responsible for the operation, coordination and further development of FIS-Nature since 2017. The specialist information system for nature conservation (FIS-Nature) is used to record, Maintenance, processing, provision and publication of nature conservation geo and factual data in Bavaria. It contains user management and interfaces to external systems. The system consists of web, server and desktop applications for Specialist procedures, geographical information systems (GIS), applications, maintenance and administration tools as well as data services. The technical infrastructure of FIS-Natur is provided and supported by the IT-DLZ.
