The Munich Hellabrunn Zoo is located south of the city center in the Thalkirchen district and is embedded in the protected landscape area of ​​the eastern Isar floodplains, with the Isar forming the western boundary of the park. The zoo stands out its natural design and central location in the urban area. The new panda enclosure includes both indoor and outdoor enclosures, visitor areas and non-public areas for animal care and covers an area of ​​around 5, 000 m².
