On the grounds of the former RAW site in Zwickau, the joint correctional facility of the Free State of Thuringia and the Free State of Saxony with approx. 820 detention places is being built (582 criminal secrecy, 148 cinema places, 90 places of open enforcement). The future JVA Zwickau-Marienthal has a BGF (A) of approx. 66, 400 m2 and a BRI (A) of approx. 250, 700 m³. These are distributed over 14 buildings, which are mostly connected to each other via underground connections. Free hourly yards, Sportsplace, parking lot and other outdoor facilities as well as rainwater retention in the western part of the property, outside the wall, complete the construction project.
The Construction work has already been implemented in parts. After the termination of a former general planner and the interruption of the construction activity, the completion of the JVA is to be allocated again by means of a total entrepreneur allocation ("Planning and building in one hand").
