Climate Change Adaptation Programme in the Coastal Zone of Mauritius - Project ID: 00080227 National Consultant for Terminal Evaluation of the Climate Change Adaptation Programme in the Coastal Zone of MauritiusThe Government of Mauritius has secured a grant from the Adaptation Fund with the support of UNDP for the implementation of the project entitled "Climate Change Adaptation Programme in the Coastal Zone of Mauritius" since 2012. This fund, set up under the Kyoto Protocol of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, is targeted to assist developing-country parties to the above protocol that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse effects of climate change in meeting the costs of adaptation projects and actions that will limit the impacts on the party.The objective of the project is to increase climate resilience of communities and livelihoods in coastal areas in Mauritius (all islands).In accordance with the rules and procedures established by UNDP and GEF, as reflected in the UNDP Evaluation Guidance for GEF Financed Projects a Terminal Evaluation of the "Climate Change Adaptation Programme in the Coastal Zone of Mauritius" is being initiated. The objectives of the evaluation are to assess the achievement of project results, and to draw lessons that can both improve the sustainability of benefits from this project, and aid in the overall enhancement of UNDP programming. The team leader will be an International Consultant and willbe responsible for the quality of the report and timely submission. The National Consultant will provide supportive roles in terms of logistical/meeting arrangements, professional inputs, knowledge of local policies, local navigation, translation/language support, etc.Evaluation approach and methodThe evaluation should include a mixed methodology of document review, interviews, and observations from project site visits, at minimum, and the evaluators should make an effort to triangulate information.
