Modernization of overnight accommodation in Leipzig (Lot 1: Building and interior planning) The need to accommodate homeless people is continually increasing. The city of Leipzig is classified according to the police authorities law of the Free State of Saxony District police authority is obliged to provide emergency accommodation for homeless people in order to avert the dangers to the individual. At the same time, the measure serves to achieve the strategic goal of “equal opportunities and collaborative neighborhood development” to increase, which results from the Leipzig Strategy 2035. The specialist plan “Emergency housing assistance in the city of Leipzig 2023 to 2026” (VII-DS-07533) expanded the capacity for emergency accommodation for homeless women, including one to offer free emergency sleeping places. It is not possible to expand the capacity to up to 50 beds in the existing facility; this should be implemented in the new property. Overnight accommodation is available to homeless adults Women are provided with basic, humane accommodation as temporary emergency assistance. The facility is open Monday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and all day on weekends and public holidays. Long-term, full-day accommodation There are no plans for female users as the overnight accommodation is only designed as a temporary emergency aid.
