Shell construction work The new information center on Mathildenhöhe will become a landmark in the internationally important history of the Darmstadt artists' colony. The formally reduced new building is positioned as a matter of course, in the form of three buildings on top of each other stacked glass pavilions, in the beautiful park on the eastern slope. In its orientation, the information center takes up the route of the historic exhibition building and seeks a neutral center in the urban structure between Olbrichweg and Studio building. The entrance level of the four-story information center is designed to be open and inviting, a place to arrive to find out information, but also an ideal place to linger. You enter the foyer via the vestibule, past the cash register and Shop takes you to the information center's inviting and bright café. Those arriving are treated to impressive views from the densely green park on the eastern slope to the studio building and its garden. Via a spacious, central spiral staircase and a passenger elevator takes visitors to the exhibition level directly above. Two eccentrically offset stairwell cores lead you to the top level with the seminar and event area.
