The new Markranstädt elevator project aims to improve the accessibility of transport stations of the DB InfraGO AG passenger station division in the Leipzig local transport area by adding an elevator system from the underpass to the Central platform track 1/2. The new elevator system will be located on the west side of the passenger underpass opposite the stairs to the platform and will be designed as a through-loader. The elevator shaft is used for the installation of elevator systems according to the current Construction standards of the DB InfraGO AG passenger station division with the clear dimensions of 2.20 x 2.70 m. The depth of the elevator shaft under FFB of the lower access is planned at 1.40 m. The elevator shaft is so far from the underpass remotely arranged so that the steel-glass shaft framework at platform level (separate service to Maschinentechnik) is located outside the cross beams of the listed platform roof and therefore no interventions in the platform roof are necessary.
