Background information The Mobile Rocket Base (MORABA) of the Space Flight Operations and Astronaut Training Facility of DLR e.V. develops and builds multi-stage research rockets and carries out rocket launch missions for scientific purposes. The goal is that effective and affordable provision of unique research opportunities for the global research community, particularly in the areas of atmospheric, microgravity and hypersonic research but also astronomy.The Sounding rockets have a modular structure. An essential part of the sounding rocket is the rocket tip. These are available in different lengths and diameters, as well as in a detachable or permanently integrated version. Brief description In the required activity, add-on parts of rocket tips are to be manufactured in different designs and assembled professionally. The pressed semi-finished products for the external structure of the are provided Rocket tips.Different designs mean that the dimensions and material of the outer contour vary as well as the function of the rocket tip itself. There is a permanently mountable version and a separable version integrated separation system. The pneumatic separation system of the 14 inch rocket tips is based on Swagelok tubing and specially developed activation assemblies. The 17 inch separable tip uses similar assemblies, but requires this one Rocket tip no additional pipelines. Most of the add-on parts are made of aluminum and steel, although individual parts can also be made of PEEK GF30. The main work results during production and assembly are: 1.
