Main-Spessart Transition (MSPÜ) Publication in accordance with Article 7 paragraph 2 of Regulation (EC) 1370/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 23, 2007 on the intended award of the following services: Operation of regional transport from December 10, 2028 until December 14, 2030 plus an extension option until December 2031 with an estimated volume of around 2.7 million train kilometers per year (in Bavaria: approx. 2.2 million train kilometers per year, in Hesse: approx. 0.5 million train kilometers per year) on the following routes: RE 54 Frankfurt - Maintal - Hanau - Aschaffenburg - Gemünden - Würzburg - Bamberg, RE 55 Frankfurt - Offenbach - Hanau - Aschaffenburg - Gemünden - Würzburg (- Bamberg). RE 55 Sa+Sun individual services Frankfurt (Main) Hbf - Aschaffenburg - Gemünden - Schweinfurt Hbf - Bamberg (via Werntalbahn). The services on the above-mentioned routes are fixed in the current “Main-Spessart” transport agreement with DB Regio AG until December 2028 and will be provided for the period from December 2030 as part of the open “Regional Transport Mainfranken” tender procedure. Therefore, a two-year transitional contract is required for services on the above-mentioned routes. Since, to the knowledge of the client, only DB Regio AG has suitable used vehicles has sufficient numbers and capacity, only DB Regio AG is suitable for providing the services, especially given the short contract term.
