It collimates the undulator beam vertically and creates a horizontal focus at a distance of 8000 mm. To ensure optical performance despite an assumed average heat load of 0.05 To maintain +/- 0.002 W/mm2 on M1, the mirror is equipped with water-cooled copper cooling plates on its long sides near the optical surface.
