Landscaping The Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment is planning to completely renew the Unter den Linden street from Pariser Platz to Schloßbrücke. As an early measure, the central promenade will be redesigned Wilhelmstraße to Universitätsstraße. As part of the measure, around 157 silver linden trees of the 'Brabant' variety are to be planted, around 80 existing existing trees are to be felled, 2 existing trees from 1936 are to be preserved and around 21 existing trees are to be moved to another location be transplanted. The silver linden trees were selected and purchased in 2023 and are therefore provided by the client. Since 2023, these have been maintained in the 2 delivery tree nurseries, and the quality is as consistent as possible and delivered to the location prepared. An approx. 2.3 m wide and 1.5 m deep planting trench is created for the new planting. The excavation should be removed and disposed of. The planting trench is filled with structurally stable tree substrate and 30 cm of topsoil as well as a Mineral mulch cover. The 2.3 m wide planting strip contains species-rich perennials. The plant strips are divided into bed segments with paved passages and have a raised granite base as a border attached discount grid.
