The L242 is located in the Harz district and connects the city of Ballenstedt with the dem Rieder district as well as the places in the Upper Harz and those in the Lower Harz. The expansion area of the L242 extends from the junction with the street "Alte Kreipe" in Ballenstedt Network km 4233 061 -0.030 to the town entrance from OT Rieder at network km 4233 061 2, 895 including the node B185 and the “Roseburg” car park. The construction length of the renovation measure is a total of approx. 2900 m.
