The prison Willich I (client) is an authority of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the portfolio of the Ministry of Justice. It has a total of 565 detention places, 132 of them in the Moenchengladbach branch. As part of a new building project, around 768 detention places, auDivided into two detention buildings, a multi-purpose building and a workshop building on the existing property, built by a general contractor under the responsibility of Bau- und Liegenschaftsbetrieb NRW.
