MIDS (Multifunctional Information and Distribution System) is the main component in the realization of the networked operations capability of the Eurofighter weapon system. In addition, the MIDS is an important part of the subsystems for communication, navigation and attack and identwithin the avionics of the Eurofighter weapon system.
The MIDS is a provision for the weapon system and is managed by the authorities. Derived from this, the following required services result, which the contractor must provide:
• Well-founded technical evaluation and reflection of all industry sidesing proposals and statements made
• Identification, introduction and technical support of national needs and demands
• Analysis and evaluation of international demands
• Creation and evaluation of extensive, detailed, technical documentation
• Analysis of problemfields for updating the MIDS standard
• Evaluation of verification claims and proof of the required data link functions
