The main objective of the assignment is the development of a National Forest Monitoring System (NFMS) as a geo-platform providing easy uploading, sharing, and working with geospatial data based on free and open-source software for geospatial information. The NFMS should work as a Geoportal platform, providing geospatial information for both public access and, through authentication, for forest management. The development of the NFMS would allow for communication on the planned areas of implementation of restoration interventions and facilitate the sharing and update of information on a variety of land units involved in the restoration process. The NFMS will also function as a repository of geospatial information related to forest management and to publish national statistics on forest cover and land use change.
