OBJECTIVES


Support the EPI team in developing an urban immunization and immunization demand promotion strategy for specific marginalized, under-vaccinated and / or missed populations.



TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


The international consultant will be specifically responsible for:
• Identifying existing best practices in the country regarding vaccination to marginalized and / or missed populations;
• Analyze and evaluate the barriers to promoting and sustaining the demand for vaccination of marginalized, under-vaccinated and / or missed specific groups;
• Develop an urban immunization strategy to increase immunization coverage in urban and peri-urban
settings. • Develop strategies to achieve specific vaccination coverage for marginalized, under-vaccinated and / or missed populations.

The main results expected from the international consultant are:

• Strategy document implemented in the 5 health districts of the city of N`Djamena.



WORKPLACE


The international consultant will be based in N`Djamena with field missions. At the N`Djamena level, he will spend 50% of his time at the national EPI sub-directorate in order to give substantial support. It will collaborate with the Chief of the Vaccination Sub-Directorate, the EPI communication officers, the communication focal points of the provincial health delegations and the health districts for the implementation of his activities.

Training:

Have a Master`s degree, awarded by a UNESCO recognized University, in social / behavioral sciences: sociology, anthropology or communication, with a focus on communication for behavioral and social change, community involvement or social mobilization.

Experiences:

Have at least 8 years professional experience in developing immunization strategy documents
Experience in conducting social science or health promotion surveys, using quantitative and qualitative research methods and research methods. behavioral data analysis
Having work experience in sub-Saharan Africa
Being able to carry out regular missions inside the country


Language:


Mastery of French and English.


Required Skills

Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software (Word, Excel) and PowerPoint
