Tenders are invited for International Consultancy to Provide Technical Support and Monitor the Installation of Internet Using VSAT in Schools.

BACKGROUND / CONTEXTE

In January 2017, UNICEF initiated an innovative project Connect my school.

This project has created a digital bridge to connect remote schools and

with internet connection using VSAT, solar panels, the installation of computer, tablets with WIFI connection.

OBJECTIVE / OBJECTIF

The objective of the consultancy is

- To scale up this project to improve access to innovative and quality education for the most vulnerable children and refugees by connecting schools with internet connection with the following equipment’s – VSAT, Wi-Fi network, solar energy system and the installation of desktops and printers

-To bring out strategies on the sustainability of the project

-To monitor technical installation process

QUALIFICATIONS, SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE AND ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE ET COMPETENCES SUPPLEMENTAIRES

§ Bsc in management, project management or development related studies

§ Minimum 5 years of experience in VSAT, Telecom and related field

§ Knowledge in Network Operation

§ Ability to think out of the box in scaling up projects

§ Ability to provide concrete steps to schools and UNICEF for sustainability of the project

§ Possess knowledge in project planning, execution and implementation

§ Should possess effective communication skills and fluent in French but English is added advantage
