Tender Details

Tenders are Invited for Intake Structure Downstream of Midlands Dam.
Bidding is Opened to Building and Civil Engineering Contractors Having Completed a Minimum of Two (2) Works of a Nature and Complexity Equivalent to the Works during the Last Ten (10) Years and Meeting Further Criteria as Detailed in the Bid Document.

2) Scope of Works

The Scope of works shall be as follows:

a) Construction of wing walls and associated river intake works.

b) Construction of reinforced rectangular channel together with 2nos. penstocks.

c) Construction of a single building to house in the following four (4) separate rooms:

o HT metering and Switchgear;

o Transformer;

o Generator and;

o Pump Control

d) Construction of separate watchman shed

e) Construction of underground rectangular water retaining structure in reinforced concrete.

f) Construction of underground rectangular pump house in reinforced concrete.

g) Supply, installation and commissioning of three (3) centrifugal pumps in vertical configuration, including control panels, pump controllers, variable frequency valve and all necessary lifting arrangements.

h) Construction of Flow Metering Room.

i) Supply, installation and commissioning of flow meters, air valves, strainers, non return valves, gate valves and the interconnecting pipes and dismantling joints.

j) Supply, installation and commissioning of surge tank/ vessel.

k) Construction of road in asphaltic concrete with associated drainage works.

l) Construction of peripheral blockwall with chain-linked fencing.

m) Street lighting works

n) The laying of underground and overhead electrical cables.
