ID 24S101 - Biological sample transport service as part of the regional project for the implementation of expanded neonatal screening for the Padua University Hospital With DGRV n. 1308 of 07/23/2013 the Veneto Region approved the "Project of execution of expanded neonatal screening", aimed at Venetian newborns, with the aim of identifying at birth any metabolic pathologies included in Annex A of the aforementioned resolution and to prevent, through suitable treatment, the onset of the relevant symptoms. The expanded neonatal screening project identifies the Padua University Hospital as the regional reference structure for its implementation, with the involvement, from 01/01/2014, of the Hereditary Metabolic Diseases, as a single center for the collection and execution of tests on newborns in the provinces of Padua, Venice, Treviso and Belluno, to which the birth centers of the Region have been added since April 2016, through specific agreements Friuli Venezia Giulia. The activities necessary for the execution of the project include the transport service of biological samples, collected daily from the birth centers and delivered to the Hereditary Metabolic Diseases Laboratory of the Padua University Hospital Company.
