The Max Planck Society (MPG) operates the Max Planck Computing and Data Facility (MPCDF) in Garching near Munich, which provides high-performance computing capacity and mass storage systems for various MPG institutes. The current one MPG high-performance computing complex Raven, which was installed by Lenovo in 2020 (with an aggregated peak computing power of approx. 25 PFlop/s) is now to be replaced for demanding, simulation-based scientific projects, e.g astrophysics, life sciences, materials research and plasma physics.
