The mechanical engineering halls in the city center were built in 1955-56 together with the institute building along Magdalenenstrasse in Darmstadt as a steel structure. A conversion and renovation of the listed hall complex is planned. They are there to adapt existing spatial structures to the new use and to renovate the roof surfaces and facades structurally and energetically.
