Ground station network service for the ROMEO small satellite mission Ground station network service for the ROMEO small satellite mission The University of Stuttgart, represented by its Institute for Space Systems (IRS), needs a globally distributed and managed network of satellite ground stations offered as a service (hereinafter referred to as ground station network). This ground station network is required for control and reception of data (mainly telemetry) of the ROMEO satellite, which is currently being developed at the IRS. The network is particularly necessary in the early mission phases (LEOP and commissioning) when system operations require multiple contacts per day with the spacecraft, which alone the university ground stations cannot be reached.
