The fire extinguisher consists of a metal body, a shut-off device, a siphon tube and a spray nozzle. After pulling the pin and pressing the lever, compressed gas (usually nitrogen or air) pushes powder under pressure through the nozzle. The powder composition isolates the burning surface from oxygen and stops the combustion reaction. Model OP-2 is recommended for use in cars. Operation at temperatures from −40 °C to +50 °C is allowed.
