The Helmholtz-Zentrum HEREON GmbH (HEREON) is a non-profit research institution and one of the 18 member facilities of the Hermann from Helmholtz community of German Research Centers e. V. The expenses of the HEREON are 90% of the federal government (BMFTR - Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and space travel) and 10% of the four consortium countries (Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Brandenburg) financed.
