General contractor services for the new ISS Carlo-Schmid-Oberschule extension HOWOGE Wohnungsbaugesellschaft mbH is one of the six municipal housing companies in the state of Berlin. As part of the Berlin school building offensive, HOWOGE is taking over for the state Berlin the new construction and major renovations of schools. In this role, HOWOGE intends to renovate, convert and expand the ISS Carlo-Schmid-Oberschule (CSO) in Berlin Spandau. The services to be awarded relate to general contractor services turnkey construction of the new extension building. The Carlo-Schmid-Oberschule (CSO) is an integrated secondary school with a high school level (ISS) and is attended by around 1, 000 students. The school location is in the Berlin district Spandau-Wilhelmstadt, at Lutoner Straße 15-19, 13581 Berlin. The existing buildings from the year 1974 on the school property include a 4-story main school building, a 1-story cafeteria building, a 1-story sports hall with an additional Gymnastics hall and a 1-story outbuilding. Due to the increasing number of students, there is currently an additional temporary school container on the property. In order to ensure the performance of the Integrated Secondary School (ISS), Comprehensive renovation, conversion and expansion measures are necessary at the Carlo Schmid High School.
