The association intends to set up the “Garzweiler Opencast Mine Documentation Center”. Located directly at the opencast mine, it should be a lively place where the landscape and cultural change caused by the opencast mine with an exhibition area for Residents and visitors are processed and can experience it. The building is part of the “Garzweiler Blue-Green Band” that is growing around the opencast mine. In August, demolition will take place on the site of the future Garzweiler open-cast mining documentation center Buildings and greenhouses of a former market garden are made. Further earthworks will take place in November and December in preparation for civil engineering. As a result, the LANDFOLGE Garzweiler association intends to place an order for the roofing work for the realization of the future documentation center for the Garzweiler opencast mine.
