As part of its responsibility under mining law, the LMBV operates water management and electrical engineering systems in order to make former operational areas usable again and to avert threats in connection with the renewed rise of groundwater the former lignite mining areas in Lusatia. These systems are supplied with electrical energy by public energy suppliers. The electrical energy is transmitted using LMBV's own transfer network stations, medium-voltage cable systems and Medium voltage overhead lines. The LMBV puts the technical management of these electrical systems out to tender. The electrical engineering systems are located on land that is owned by LMBV and is subject to mining law, and in part on land owned by third parties. Technical management of 27 LMBV network transformer stations, medium voltage, cable and overhead line systems; 24-hour on-call service; immediate troubleshooting, elimination of defects, Maintenance, changes, extensions and dismantling of the electrical systems; Carrying out revision/testing of the electrical systems; Carrying out switching operations on the MV and LV systems, moving network stations, engineering services, Technical assistance, route and system maintenance. The contract is advertised as a framework agreement with on-demand services (contract).
