To monitor environmental radioactivity through continuous measurement of the local gamma dose rate (ODL), the Federal Office for Radiation Protection (BfS) operates a nationwide ODL measurement network in accordance with the Radiation Protection Act (StrlSchG). The ODL measuring network consists of approx. 1, 700 stationary, automatically operating measuring points throughout Germany. The functionality and operation of the entire ODL measurement network is organizationally ensured by the BfS via six measurement network nodes. The six MNK locations have different areas of responsibility within Germany. The MNK are located in the cities of Freiburg, Berlin, Neuherberg, Bonn, Salzgitter and Rendsburg. In order to ensure the functionality of the ODL measurement network, the client needs support for planning and implementing lightning protection measures at ODL measuring points. The required services and requirements for the contractor are set out in the tender documents.
