50Hertz and Elia tender a framework agreement on geotechnical investigations for export cable routes.
50Hertz, as part of the Elia Group, foresees the construction of several offshore high-voltage DC and AC stations (HVDC and HVAC), including the installation of the export cables in the North Sea and Baltic Sea.
For this purpose, geotechnical investigations for the export cable route shall be performed to acquire all necessary information for the conceptual and detailed design phases.
The geotechnical specifications will be used in several projects (e.g. LanWin6, as well as other OWF (offshore wind farm) clusters in the North Sea and future OWF areas in the Baltic Sea in addition to the existing windfarm areas).

The scope of work encompasses offshore geotechnical investigations, including both offshore and onshore laboratory testing, as well as comprehensive reporting of the results. This scope applies to areas within both the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, as detailed in the Scope of Works (SoW).
The investigations are specifically related to export cable routes and do not include offshore substations. Consequently, the required borehole depths are relatively shallow, typically ranging between 5 to 10 meters, and will not extend to depths of 80 to 100 met...
