In a multi-stage project by 2026, the Fraunhofer Society (FhG) is planning to set up a “research battery cell manufacturing facility” (FFB), in which novel battery cell concepts and processes will be developed using digitalized, flexible and modular manufacturing methods should be combined and researched. The aim of the FFB is to reduce the development effort for the highly scaled production of the latest lithium-ion battery cells.
