Climate protection can be effectively addressed. The background is the increasing spread of deliberately misleading narratives that weaken trust in scientific findings, political institutions and evidence-based climate policy increase social polarization. The aim of the project is to develop and empirically test preventative, evidence-based communication approaches, including pre-bunking strategies and counter-narratives, even in a context characterized by disinformation environment remain effective. To this end, relevant channels and media should be identified, disinformation patterns analyzed and effective forms of communication for different social groups examined. Particular attention is paid to how Trust can be strengthened, misinformation can be prevented at an early stage and social connectivity can be ensured. In addition, research will be carried out into how sensitized target groups can once again become more powerful multipliers for climate and environmental issues can be activated.
