Onboard measurements of the methane emissions of an LNG-powered sea ship “
As part of the research project, the methane emissions of a ship operated with LNG, which is equipped with a high-pressure-two-two-stroke engine (HPDF engine), are to be determined during a journey. According to the manufacturer, engines of this design are characterized by particularly low methane briefs, but have so far been hardly the subject of scientific publications. For this purpose, emission measurements are intended in the exhaust gas rank of the two main engines and on a two-fabric aid engine on board the ship.
Further methane emissions of volatile nature or from ventilation should also be recorded if possible.
