The high integration density of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) makes it possible to accommodate many optical components on one chip. Measuring these individually is very time-consuming, particularly the adjustment of sample fibers to waveguide inserts. and outputs is demanding. Fiber arrays make it possible to measure multiple inputs and outputs at the same time, which should significantly increase our measurement throughput and allow measurements of complete scattering matrices at one measuring point. To drive these fiber arrays and to automatically adapt the fiber assignment to individual components, the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena would like to procure a fiber switch.
