Description : Purpose

UNICEF is the agency of the United Nations mandated to advocate for the protection of children`s rights, to help meet their basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential. Guided by the Convention on the Rights of the Child UNICEF strives to establish children`s rights as international standards of behaviour towards children.

UNICEF is active in more than 190 countries, territories and areas through 34 National Committees (NATCOM) and more than 150 Country Offices worldwide. For over three decades, UNICEF has been using TV for Fundraising (FR) purposes: TV shows in Sweden and Bulgaria, Soccer Aid in the UK, I Prodigi in Italy, Un Sol para los Chicos in Argentina, Crianca Esperanza in Brazil, Tod@s por los Ni@s in Uruguay, Nio Esperanza in Ecuador, Operacin Buena Onda in Peru, and Thailand`s Blue Carpet Show.

The purpose of this consultancy is to assess the feasibility of a global UNICEF TV Show to fund UNICEF programs. This TV show is to include celebrities, support from global Corporate partners and glocal (international and local) fundraising activities. In the first instance, Global would mean a number of pilot markets before expanding reach in future years.
