Against the background of the considerable maintenance effort for existing buildings in the German Federal Funeral Load network and the associated high demands on the bridge tests and examiners, various optimization options of the standardized test process are examined by using new digital technologies.

In the present research project "AR- and AI-based analysis of damage developments", a solution is to be developed based on previous examinations, to what extent the chronological development of building damage can be captured, reserved and included in the systematic test and evaluation process. The focus should be on linking individual or combined damage changes using AI and on the basis of newly generated and existing data records. At the same time, the data compatibility to the digital twin bridge should be guaranteed and the building examiners are actively and in almost real time during the test process. A prototypical demonstrator is to be developed to visualize the project results.
