There is currently no test procedure in the TP Asphalt to determine the binder requirement of an aggregate mixture for mastic asphalt as part of the preparation of initial tests. The optimal binder content is important for performance Mastic asphalt recipe is of great importance. It has an equal effect on the processability of the mass, the resistance to cracking and the resistance to deformation. The performance properties of mastic asphalt are due to the increasing climatic changes associated with longer phases of high temperatures, especially in terms of resistance to deformation. Increasing rutting, especially on bridge structures, has recently become more common again. When optimizing In terms of deformation resistance, it must be taken into account for mastic asphalt surface layers that at the same time a sufficient excess of binder is ensured for safe processing and the integration of the spreading/chipping. Experience has shown that the respective optimal binder content depends largely on the intended purpose. In order to determine the optimal binder content, the void content of the aggregate mixture is particularly important when it is stored as densely as possible regard. The aim of this research project is to describe a suitable test method for determining the densest storage of the aggregate mixture and thus to provide a reliable method for determining the optimal binder content to establish the conception of mastic asphalt that meets the requirements.
