The West Coast Clinics Brunsbuettel and Heide gGmbH (client) are tendering the expansion of the existing Dell server (VxRail) / storage infrastructure in one lot. The existing IT infrastructure is based on a homogeneous Dell VxRail hyperconverged solution, supplemented by NetApp storage for special VM requirements.

In addition to a homogeneous system structure, full and consistent integration into the existing system is important Hyper-converged infrastructure with 37 hosts from the manufacturer Dell. The required system expansion with approx. 18 hosts does not justify the tendering of a new overall solution and the associated costs. When mixing the current Dell cluster with products from others Manufacturer, the necessary manufacturer support expires and the overall solution can no longer be operated. This is not acceptable for safety and operational reasons. Furthermore, there would be a mixing of different products and the associated allocation of sources of errors, warranties and so on Support contracts are problematic and must be avoided. Against this background, the "one-manufacturer strategy" is being adhered to in order to continue to ensure this homogeneous system landscape. For this reason, the system expansion of the clusters is carried out with Dell and the storage solution Manufacturer NetApp.
