Assignment Description
The World Bank is seeking a consultant to advise on the establishment of a laboratory of clean cooking at Technology Development & Advisory Unit | University of Zambia. This task is expected to include:
(i) Stakeholder interviews with the appropriate technical and managerial staff of the university;
(ii) An evaluation of the spaces, laboratory and instruments presently allocated to the laboratory;
(iii) An evaluation of health and safety protocols currently in place;
(iv) An assessment of the training necessary to enable the laboratory staff to operate the laboratory on an internationally certifiable level;
(v) An estimate of the capital and recurrent costs needed to become a fully operational and certified clean cooking lab; and
(vi) A workshop to explain the findings of the consultancy to the relevant university and governmental staff to enable them to understand the basic requirements.
The output of the consultancy will be a finished written report presented to the University, Government of the Republic of Zambia and World Bank stakeholders to enable them to move ahead with the laboratorys strengthening, equipping and staffing.
