Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) invites the lodgment of Expressions of Interest (EOI) from local, international companies and joint ventures for the establishment of an electrical cable manufacturing plant to supply the corporation. The corporation uses various electrical cables including XPLE cables, Concentric Service Cables, Underground Cables, Aerial Bundle Cables (ABC) and ACSR conductors.
Minimum Requirements
The Expression of Interest proposal by prospective bidders shall meet the following minimum requirements;
The company(or joint venture) must be registered in BotswanaDemonstrate capability and technical experience in the development, permitting, project financing, design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, insurance, operation and maintenance of an electrical cables manufacturing plant.Demonstrate past experience in the supply and delivery of electrical cables (please include references from at least three (3) past clients). Botswana Power Corporation (BPC) should be one of the references if you have supplied the same to BPC.Demonstrate ability to secure funds for similar scale project either through self-funding, credit facilities or any other arrangements with financial institutions.Provide a detailed project execution plan including resourcing plan, financing plan and mobilization plan supported by an implementation schedule detailing timelines for all the milestones.
In addition, interested bidders must submit the following documents with their expression of interest:
Company Registration Certificate(s) (and Joint Venture agreement for joint ventures)Tax clearance Certificate(s)List of Directors and copies of their Identity documents.Shareholder Certificates and copies of shareholders identity documents
The Corporation will shortlist (pre-qualify) companies based on assessment of the received expressions of interest using the information as requested. Companies or firms shortlisted may be invited for presentation. Further short listed companies or firms post presentations may be invited to tender for the required services by responding to a detailed Request for Proposal (RfP). Citizen owned and companies partnering with citizens will be given preference in line with the Citizen Economic Empowerment Policy.
