The existing U5 subway line currently ends at Laimer Platz subway station. The U5-West to Pasing is the western extension of this subway line. There are 3 train stations in this section of the route. The overall measure is divided into two construction phases: 5 West -1 (hereinafter also referred to as construction lot 1) and 5 West -2 (hereinafter also referred to as construction lot 2). The tendered services for technical equipment (low voltage) essentially cover the area of the Am Knie train station with the associated tunnel sections (part of lot 2), which are located in the area of Fischer-von-Erlach-Str. in the east and Josef-Felder-Str. lie in the west. The route tunnels are divided into an eastern section of approx. 900 m and a western section of approx. 300 m. The construction phase includes the allotment garden emergency exit building, which is located in the eastern section of the tunnel. The majority of the tunnel is produced by mining and is therefore designed as a “round tunnel”. In the Am subway station Knees are planned on two underground levels, the platform level to the west and east of the platform ends and the distribution level (formerly barrier floors), operating rooms and operating facilities.
