The JEN 152 casks of the type CAS TOR(r) THTR/AVR (AVR casks) loaded with 288161 spherical graphitic fuel assemblies from the AVR are stored in the AVR cask storage facility on the Juelich site. The storage takes place within the framework of an order from the competent nuclear supervisory authority (WirtschaMinistry of Transport NRW, MWIKE) according to §19 para. 3 AtG. JEN has applied for a storage permit for this existing building. In addition to the storage of the AVR casks, JEN operates a handling area for the maintenance and handling of the AVR casks, which is approved according to § 9 AtGIn order to comply with the immediate evacuation, JEN is following the transport of the AVR casks to the transport cask storage facility in Ahaus (TBL-A) and, at the same time, the construction of a new interim storage facility (§6 AtG) in Juelichof documents for the above Licensing and supervisory procedures according to Section 6 and Section 9 AtG.
